About Me

Welcome to Rockfish Farm!  Thank you for visiting!  My name is Jennifer.
As you look around, you'll see I'm a "jack of all trades".  I love everything from gardening to cooking, decorating and all things farm life - you know, all those fun stay at home mom things - everything but folding laundry and doing the dishes.  Those things - I don't love.

I am a wife of 15 years to Robert and a mommy to three sweet little girls.  They're adjusting well to farm life.  My husband has already expressed his love for farming.  It's a good thing he decided he liked it -- you'll see below.

It's a dream life, and only you create it.

We built our dream farmhouse on about 12 acres of land.  Slowly but surely we are turning this into a homestead.  I promised we would grow it over time.  But within 2 weeks of moving in, I decided it was time for chickens.  18 of them.

Yup, I said 18.  I sure did.  What was I thinking?

I'm not sure, but they sure are cute! Some got names right away, some are still nameless.  Above here is Rosemary, and above that, that's Paprika.  I think they've made it onto the "Pet List" despite the "give them a kitchen name to remind us of their future".  That worked well, huh?

Meet Laila.  Lover of the farm life.  She's a happy Lab running around here keeping things in order.  She was made for the farm life.

And this? This was our “awww, let’s get a puppy” addition. And we won’t be saying the above words for quite some time. This is Raleigh. He is a Redbone Coonhound. He’s a wild one. One day I hope he enjoys just doing some front porch lazy laying around. Until then, we will be here. On our toes waiting to see what he’s into next.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you'll come back soon and often to visit Rockfish Farm!  I look forward to reading your comments as you come to check in!
xoxo,
Jennifer

Farmhouse Front Porch Makeover

There's nothing like ending the day wrapped in a blanket, with a glass of wine overlooking the farm. This spot was definitely craving so...
